Hangzhou's city football team secured a crucial 2-0 away victory over Wenzhou on May 16 in round 9 of Zhejiang City Football League, or Wuyue Cup, locking in a top-two finish in the first stage of the tournament with two rounds remaining.

Forward Jin Yihang starred for Hangzhou with one goal and one assist. He first set up Jiang Haojie with a header in the first half before scoring a stunning free-kick after the break to seal the win and earn MVP honors.

The victory guarantees Hangzhou home-field advantage in the knockout stage. With leading scorer Wu Haoyi sidelined for the season due to injury, Jin has stepped up as a key attacking force and now shares the league scoring lead with five goals.

Off the pitch, local kindergarten girl Wu Shuran — who recently went viral for watching matches through a stadium fence — was invited by organizers to attend the game with her family and serve as a matchday mascot.

Hangzhou will next host Ningbo on May 20 in a top-of-the-table clash.
