The 2026 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week opened in Hangzhou on May 26, bringing together more than 600 business leaders, young representatives from Taiwan, and government officials to explore new opportunities for cross-Strait cooperation.
A highlight of the event was the launch of the Zhejiang High-Tech and Listed Taiwan-Funded Enterprises Development Alliance, aimed at supporting the transformation and upgrading of Taiwan-invested businesses. Zhejiang is now home to 281 high-tech Taiwan-funded enterprises and eight listed Taiwan-invested companies.
The opening ceremony also witnessed the signing of 12 major Taiwan-funded projects. Among them, a new project by Polygreen Global Group will invest up to $200 million in aerospace components, medical devices and an international diving base in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou.
Cross-Strait youth entrepreneurship was another key focus. Organizers announced the upcoming Top Chinese Livestream Host Youth E-commerce Exchange Conference, set to take place in Yiwu from June 21 to 25.
During the cooperation week, a series of events covering artificial intelligence, cultural tourism and industrial collaboration will also be held across Zhejiang.
Since its launch in 2013, Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week has become a major platform for cross-strait economic and cultural exchanges, helping businesses and young people build closer ties and pursue shared development.
