The final of the 2026 Qiantang Cup International Youth Chinese Language and Culture Competition concluded at Jinsha Lake Grand Theater on June 5, bringing together talented young contestants from 11 countries in a showcase of language skills, cultural understanding and artistic creativity.

After six months of competition, 14 finalists from countries such as Russia, Greece and Uzbekistan advanced from a field of more than 200 international students representing over 30 universities across China.

The final featured three rounds: debates on topics such as AI-assisted language learning and Hangzhou's appeal to global youth, cultural performances blending traditional Chinese and contemporary elements, and personal presentations sharing contestants' connections with China.

Participants impressed audiences with Chinese-language debates, traditional dance, music performances, stand-up comedy and stories of cultural exchange.

The championship title went to Myint Li Li, a student from Myanmar who currently studies at Communication University of Zhejiang.

The event also featured performances by local students, including a technology-themed dance and a multimedia presentation combining traditional arts such as tea preparation, guqin music, martial arts and calligraphy.

As the event concluded, organizers said Qiantang will continue working to connect global youth with Chinese culture and fostering international friendship and exchange.
