The China Academy of Art (CAA) opened its 2026 graduation season on June 1 in Hangzhou under the theme of Grand Tour, transforming the city into a distributed exhibition space and cultural stage for nearly 3,000 graduation works by students across 20 academic units.
Spanning nine venues — including CAA campuses, Zhejiang Art Museum, and multiple cultural institutions across Hangzhou — the exhibition continues CAA's long-standing practice of extending art education beyond the academy into the fabric of urban life.
This year's opening featured a cross-disciplinary performance and fashion show, weaving together film, stage design, music, and runway presentations. Nearly 140 fashion works were showcased, reflecting a narrative of exploration, mobility, and the creativity of youth.

Alongside the exhibition, the 2026 International Youth Art Dialogue was launched, gathering deans from over 50 international art academies and young artists from more than 50 countries, and connecting the practices of teaching, creation, and curation through forums and exhibitions.
CAA leadership emphasized that Hangzhou itself functions as an international platform for art and innovation, where artistic creation is grounded in real social contexts rather than confined to campus spaces.
The exhibition runs until June 21, reinforcing Hangzhou's role as a global node for contemporary art education and youth cultural exchange.
