A special exhibition showcasing China's ancient Liangzhu civilization opened on June 8 at the Berlin Chinese Cultural Center, bringing the story of a 5,000-year-old city to audiences in Germany.

Titled Hello Liangzhu, the exhibition is part of global celebrations for International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations on June 10. It highlights the rise of Liangzhu civilization, its distinctive jade culture, and its lasting influence in modern times.

Through archaeological discoveries, images of the ancient city, and displays of iconic artifacts such as the jade cong and the jade bi, visitors gain insight into the social order, beliefs, and cultural achievements of one of China's earliest civilizations.

Svetlana, who visited the exhibition, said it felt like "a portal" that transported her 5,000 years back in time to ancient Liangzhu. Inspired by the display, she is considering adding Hangzhou to her future travel plans in China.

Xu Tianjin, director of the Liangzhu Museum, said the exhibition offers a new opportunity to deepen cultural exchanges with European institutions and invited German audiences to visit Hangzhou and experience Liangzhu culture firsthand.

The exhibition will run for one month.
