An immersive XR exhibition based on the classic Chinese animated film The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven debuted at the 22nd China International Cartoon and Animation Festival in Hangzhou on June 15, drawing visitors eager to step into the Monkey King's role.

Wearing VR headsets, participants experienced immersive iconic scenes from the beloved animation, including battles in the Heavenly Palace and adventures across sea and sky, bringing the legendary story to life through cutting-edge technology.

Developed by Shanghai Animation Film Studio, the exhibition is part of a new initiative exploring the integration of cinema, tourism, and digital entertainment.

The attraction features three themed zones and blends XR large-space environments, VR ride systems, and motion-interactive experiences, showcasing how classic Chinese animation IPs are being reimagined for the digital age.
