China's men's national basketball team defeated the Netherlands 65-60 in an international warm-up game at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center on June 23, securing its second consecutive victory ahead of upcoming international competitions.
The closely contested match saw the two sides trade leads throughout the game. China rallied from a two-point deficit after the first quarter to take a 38-34 lead into halftime before the Dutch team narrowed the gap to just one point entering the final period.
Center Yang Hansen made his first national team appearance in 486 days, returning to the starting lineup alongside Liao Sanning, He Xining, Zhu Junlong and Wang Junjie.
The game remained on a knife edge in the fourth quarter. After the Netherlands briefly regained the lead with a late three-pointer, Liao responded with a crucial driving layup to put China back in front. Strong defensive pressure in the final 30 seconds helped the hosts hold on for a five-point victory.
The win capped a valuable test against a physically intimidating European opponent, providing China with further opportunities to refine its lineup and build confidence ahead of the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifying campaign.
