The FIFA Foundation is preparing to establish its first representative office outside its headquarters in Switzerland in Hangzhou, while China's first FIFA World Football Expo is also planned for the city's Zhijiang Sports and Culture Center.
The project is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2026.
The football complex will feature a FIFA World Football Expo, a FIFA International Football School and a new "FIFA Legends Football Event" designed for the Chinese market.
The expo will showcase football memorabilia spanning more than a century, with some items making their China debut. It will also include a Dolby-equipped multifunctional hall for watching major football tournaments.
The FIFA International Football School will introduce FIFA's youth-development methods and training system to young players in Hangzhou. The new legends event will bring former football stars and exhibition matches to Chinese fans.
The FIFA Foundation team is preparing its representative office on the fourth floor of the center. The initiative adds to Hangzhou's efforts to develop as a national football hub and expand its international sports-event profile.
