Traces of Starry Heroes: A Special Exhibition of Heroic Narratives in Chinese Animation is now on display at the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou.

Jointly hosted by the Zhejiang Art Museum and the China Academy of Art, the exhibition features nearly 600 physical and digital exhibits, including original sketches, cel drawings, historical documents and animation prints, tracing nearly a century of Chinese animation.

Themed sections showcase original works from classics such as The Monkey King, Nezha Conquers the Dragon King and The Secret of the Magic Gourd, alongside newer productions including White Snake and Creation of the Gods: The First Kingdom of Luoyang.

The exhibition has also attracted many families, with parents and children stopping to view vintage posters and original artwork, revisiting shared childhood memories through iconic animated characters.

The exhibition runs through Sept 6.
