Rarely seen twin dragon eye tide on Qiantang River

Updated: August 10, 2026 L M S

A rarely seen Twin Dragon Eye Tide on the Qiantang River.

It was taken on Aug 7 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. On the eve of the typhoon, the river's flow patterns changed subtly. Two tidal waves simultaneously created perfect curling wave holes, like twin dragons raising their heads. Someone suggested calling it "Twin Dragons Playing with Beads". This name carries its own meaning and is full of momentum.

Great tides surge, turbid waves roll, and the wonders created by nature by chance can be encountered but not sought.
