Hangzhou's AI industry generated 211.6 billion yuan ($31.37 billion) in revenue in the first half of this year, up 23.4 percent year-on-year — maintaining growth above 20 percent for the second consecutive year.

The city has increased investment in computing infrastructure, large-model development, and intelligent terminals, while strengthening its AI industrial ecosystem.

In May, Hangzhou implemented regulations to support the embodied intelligence robot industry, focusing on innovation, infrastructure, industrial growth, applications, and safety. Additionally, a national pilot center dedicated to AI applications in embodied intelligence was officially launched that month.

The city's AI ecosystem continues to expand, encompassing open-source large models, developer communities, and emerging technology companies. Meanwhile, AI is moving from laboratories into factories and other real-world settings.

At Lanxin Robotics, robots equipped with 3D vision systems can scan environments, identify objects, and make real-time decisions using deep-learning algorithms. Hikvision's intelligent industrial CT equipment can perform three-dimensional scans of electronic components, with AI-based defect recognition achieving an accuracy rate of more than 99.5 percent.

The developments reflect a shift from AI being merely usable to AI becoming more practical and deeply integrated into production.

Hangzhou plans to further strengthen its open-source ecosystem, accelerate embodied-intelligence development, promote industrial applications, develop standards, and foster innovation to support continued AI growth.
