HIIG: Success story of global expansion
With the opening of the 9th Hangzhou International Day on Sept 5 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, a thematic exhibition opened to the public to showcase the city's achievements over the past decade.
Among the highlights was Hangzhou Industrial Investment Group (HIIG), the city's only State-owned enterprise listed in the Fortune Global 500, which exhibited its strategic evolution in integrating into the global market.
HIIG presented three key product models at the exhibition — an intelligent forklift, an unmanned helicopter, and a space station, symbolizing its "three-step" global expansion strategy.
The intelligent forklift, a product of Hangcha Group with HIIG as one of the shareholders, reflects the company's swift shift from product export to production capacity export, with new facilities in Thailand and France.
The unmanned helicopter represents HIIG's innovative "model export" in the low-altitude economy and has been selected for a regulatory sandbox project in Hong Kong.
The space station model signifies future technological cooperation, with plans to deploy space-based data processing stations.
At present, HIIG's international footprint has expanded to 53 overseas offices across over 100 countries and regions. The group has built a robust ecosystem, fostering collaboration through platforms like the BRICS Special Economic Zone China Cooperation Center and the China-Africa Digital Technology Cooperation Center.
This strategic approach not only strengthens Hangzhou's global presence but also exemplifies the city's commitment to integrating into the global innovation network.
