A 15-member Asia-Pacific civil society delegation visited Zhejiang province from Sept 6 to 9 to discuss technological innovation, youth services, and urban community governance.

Led by Maria Del Carmen Alva Prieto, former president of the Congress of Peru and a member of the National Executive Committee of the Popular Action Party, the delegation included representatives of civic organizations, think tanks, and media outlets from nine countries, including Russia, the Philippines, and South Korea.

The delegation visited Alibaba to explore new models in the digital economy and toured Unitree Robotics to observe advances in embodied intelligence and humanoid robots, gaining insights into Zhejiang's technology-driven industrial development.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum, delegates learned about the preparation and organization of the Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games and discussed youth development and volunteer services with the ‌Hangzhou Youth League Committee‌.

At Zhejiang University, Zhu Yanjian, deputy dean of the School of Global Development, delivered a lecture on China's shift from fiscal subsidies to government industrial funds, explaining local governments' role in economic transformation and industrial upgrading.

The delegation also visited the Liuxia Senior Citizens Complex, Hangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, and China Silk Museum to gain insights into community elderly care, grassroots governance, and public services.
