From Rio to Hangzhou: Young musicians build China-Brazil bridges
The 2026 China-Brazil Year of Culture is bringing young musicians closer through music and cultural exchange. This summer, members of Rio de Janeiro's all-female Chiquinha Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra have traveled to Hangzhou in east China's Zhejiang Province, where they sang the beloved folk song "Jasmine Flower," tried their hand at traditional mask painting, experienced a Chinese tea ceremony, and explored historic sites. The journey offered a unique opportunity for these young Brazilians to discover Chinese culture while building new bridges between the two countries.
