A cultural creative company from Hangzhou showcased West Lake-inspired products at the 2026 Chinese New Year Temple Fair at Camden Market in London on Feb 21, blending the elegance of West Lake culture with the vibrancy of the Spring Festival.
Decorated with red arches, lanterns, Chinese knots and zodiac ornaments, the market brought traditional Chinese New Year customs into dialogue with Camden's multicultural atmosphere. Traditional crafts, Chinese snacks and cultural performances drew steady crowds throughout the day.
The Hangzhou exhibitor presented a diverse range of cultural products featuring West Lake patterns, including coasters, badges, folders, oversized tote bags and co-branded trays and scented plush toys.
Works inspired by renowned Chinese artists were also featured, such as creations based on classic literature illustrations by Dai Dunbang and Cheng Cheng's meticulous painting Six Steeds in Splendor, echoing the Year of the Horse theme. Festive items such as "Fortune Arrives on Horseback" silk scarves and fridge magnets themed on the God of Fortune conveyed warm new year wishes to British visitors.
The event served as a vivid example of Hangzhou's global cultural outreach, bringing the poetic charm of West Lake to London and fostering closer cultural exchange between China and the United Kingdom.
