Using international exhibitions as a strategic gateway, Hangzhou is bringing China's cutting-edge AI technologies to the global stage, with standout participation at the 2026 Health.Tech Global Summit in Basel, Switzerland.

Held in early March, the three-day event gathered over 6,000 participants from 60 countries. Organized by MCH Group, the summit featured industry leaders including Roche, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, as well as tech giants like NVIDIA, IBM and Amazon Web Services.

Backed by Hangzhou's exhibition platforms, nearly 10 Chinese companies showcased innovations in AI-driven healthcare, attracting over 1,000 visits from European clients and securing more than 100 cooperation intentions.

From AI-powered diagnostic systems to rapid pathogen detection enabled by high-throughput sequencing, Chinese firms demonstrated growing capabilities in precision medicine. Consumer-oriented innovations also drew attention, including a smartwatch that completes multi-metric health scans within one minute and lightweight exoskeleton devices designed for daily mobility support.

Participants noted a shift from deal-making to deeper industry dialogue. The summit's strong academic focus offered Chinese companies valuable insights into global trends, particularly in AI-enabled healthcare transformation.

A strategic partnership between Hangzhou's exhibition sector and MCH Group has further strengthened links to Europe, turning expos into a key channel for resource integration and market access.

As Hangzhou pushes to become China's leading AI innovation hub, such global engagements are accelerating the international reach of Chinese technologies while fostering cross-border collaboration.
