A winding mountain road dubbed the "Devil's 42 Bends" is gaining attention as a new hotspot for adrenaline seekers in eastern China.
Located in Jiande city's Sandu town, the route — also known as the "Western Zhejiang Sky Road" — features 42 sharp turns stretching from the foothills to the summit.
On March 21, professional drivers staged a high-intensity drifting performance along the serpentine road, showcasing its challenging terrain and dramatic elevation changes.
The event, designed as a visual spectacle rather than a public race, highlighted the road's potential as a tourism draw. Even industry drivers praised the route's complexity and scenic payoff, with panoramic cloud views awaiting at the top.
Local authorities stress that high-speed driving is not recommended for visitors, encouraging safe exploration focused on sightseeing.
Sandu also offers a more relaxing experience. At the nearby Sanjiangkou area, visitors can enjoy riverside camping, cycling trails, and traditional fishing village culture, including cormorant fishing and local cuisine.
