In the springtime tea season of Hangzhou, Yu Chi-hsuan, a young woman from Taiwan, is gaining recognition for her role in promoting rural vitalization through Jingshan tea culture.

Originally from Chiayi, Taiwan, Yu moved to Hangzhou's Yuhang district in 2018 under a global talent recruitment program. Drawn by her passion for traditional Chinese culture and family ties to Zhejiang, she immersed herself in the thousand-year-old heritage of Jingshan tea, widely regarded as the origin of matcha culture.

She co-founded the innovative tea beverage brand "Master Lu's Tea" and helped develop the cultural tourism icons "Lu Yu and the Tea Monk", blending tradition with modern creativity.

Across Yuhang's towns, Yu has supported rural vitalization through boutique homestay clusters, eco-tourism projects, local cuisine initiatives, and intangible cultural heritage experiences, creating employment opportunities for local residents.

Committed to fostering cross-Strait exchange, Yu also helped establish a youth engagement platform for Taiwan visitors, welcoming over 3,000 participants and facilitating internships in Zhejiang.

By bringing Jingshan tea products back to Taiwan, she continues to share the charm of Zhejiang, transforming green mountains into golden opportunities and inspiring more Taiwan youth to pursue their dreams on the Chinese mainland.
