Hangzhou has emerged as the top performer in the 2026 Dianping Must Stay List, released on April 8.
A total of 1,418 hotels across 205 Chinese cities were selected, with Hangzhou leading the nation with 54 entries. The city also ranked among those with the highest number of hotels in the leisure vacation category, reinforcing its reputation as a premier holiday destination.
As the cultural and tourism hub of Zhejiang province, Hangzhou continues to set the benchmark for high-quality hospitality. Several renowned properties — including Zhejiang Xizi Hotel and Hangzhou Xixi Hotel — have maintained their presence on the list for seven consecutive years.
The selected hotels span 11 lifestyle themes such as scenic stays, family-friendly experiences, and boutique design accommodations, catering to diverse traveler preferences. Province-wide, Zhejiang recorded 188 hotels on the list, ranking first among all regions in China.
This year's list also expanded to cover 91 additional destinations, aligning with the growing tourism trend.
Supported by AI analysis of millions of authentic user reviews, the rankings offer reliable guidance for personalized travel experiences and are expected to further stimulate Hangzhou's cultural tourism market during the spring season.
