Residents and visitors in Hangzhou will soon be able to experience the charm of all 27 European Union (EU) member states without leaving the city.
The 2026 European Cultural Street will take place from April 17 to 18 at the outdoor plaza of the Hangzhou Grand Theater in Qianjiang New City, Shangcheng district.
The two-day event will feature interactive booths from all 27 EU member states, alongside a dedicated EU-China Geographical Indications (GI) Zone, offering visitors an immersive journey through Europe's diverse cultures.
The event is free to the public and will showcase a wide range of activities, including cultural exhibitions, traditional crafts, and authentic European cuisine. Nearly nine hours of live stage performances will span genres such as jazz, rock, classical, folk, and traditional European music.
The GI exhibition will introduce renowned European food and beverage products. Additionally, green-themed interactive experiences will promote sustainable lifestyles.
Since its launch in 2017, the European Cultural Street has been held in major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, serving as a platform for cultural diplomacy and fostering deeper people-to-people exchanges between Europe and China.
