Hangzhou's campaign in the group stage of the 2026 Zhejiang City Football League (Wuyue Cup) came to an end on May 20 after the team fell to Ningbo at home with a score of 3–1.

Despite the defeat, Hangzhou secured second place in the standings and advanced to the knockout stage.

Ningbo scored within the first 10 seconds through a long-range finish from Wang Pengquan.

Hangzhou responded in the 7th minute when No 9 Wang Yiwen converted from a corner to level the score. But just minutes later, an own goal put the hosts behind again.

The high-tempo start, featuring three goals in the opening 10 minutes, energized the crowd as both sides pressed aggressively and attacked through the flanks. Wet conditions following overnight rain added to the challenge.

After the break, Ningbo extended its lead to 3–1. Hangzhou continued to push forward and came close several times but ultimately failed to secure another goal.

With the result, Hangzhou finishes the league stage in second place and will now turn its focus to the knockout rounds.
