The 2026 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures Hangzhou Xiaoshan stop kicked off on June 25 at the 8-meter platform of Hangzhou International Expo Center, with 54 teams from 19 countries and regions, including China, Germany, Latvia and Australia, competing in a four-day showdown.
As an FIVB Futures-level event, the tournament is among the world's top beach volleyball competitions alongside the Olympics and World Championships. It also serves as an Olympic ranking event, with every match affecting teams' world rankings and Olympic qualification prospects. China has sent 13 teams to compete, including Asian Games champions aiming for the title.
Breaking away from traditional seaside venues, the event brings a unique "sports meets landmark" experience to Hangzhou. Set along the Qiantang River, the artificial beach court at the expo center offers stunning views of the city skyline, with the Hangzhou Arch and the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium creating a spectacular backdrop.
