The T112/113 Hangzhou-Lanzhou express train completed its final journey on June 28 as China's nationwide railway timetable entered its third-quarter adjustment, bringing an end to more than 20 years of service on the 2,355-kilometer route.
Railway enthusiasts gathered at Hangzhou Railway Station to bid farewell to the iconic green train, which carried generations of passengers traveling for work, study, family reunions and more between East and Northwest China.

Unlike most modern high-speed trains, the T112/113 remained famous for its traditional dining car. Equipped with a working kitchen, chefs prepared dishes to order over live stoves, serving both Hangzhou and northwestern Chinese specialties with the distinctive flavor of "wok hei", which literally translates as "the breath of the wok".
The train's farewell journey also marked the end of an era. Former crew members and longtime passengers returned to relive memories of steaming meals, changing landscapes and the unique atmosphere that made the Hangzhou-Lanzhou express a beloved part of China's railway history.
