Hangzhou Beikang Hospital has opened in Liangzhu Life Science Town, Zhejiang province, adding a modern medical facility focusing on critical-care rehabilitation.

The hospital, which opened on Sept 12, focuses on clinical care, research, and technology transfer, with a particular emphasis on using emerging technologies to improve rehabilitation services. It is located in the Rundi International Medical Center and benefits from the center's integrated platform for medical care, diagnosis, research, and innovation.

The hospital has obtained approvals for medical practice, medical insurance services, and specialized treatments following six months of trial operations. It has also undertaken national-level research projects and plans to develop a research-oriented rehabilitation center.

The opening coincided with the first Clinical Applications of Brain-Computer Interfaces Forum, which brought together the province's rehabilitation experts, healthcare professionals, and industry representatives. Discussions were centered on the clinical translation of brain-computer interface technology, neural regulation, and cooperation between hospitals, research institutions, and industry.

Guests also visited the hospital's hyperbaric oxygen treatment center, intensive care unit, brain-computer interface rehabilitation center, and smart wards, equipped with specialized facilities for critical care and neurological rehabilitation.

The hospital plans to use Hangzhou's life science industry ecosystem to deepen collaboration among medicine, engineering, industry, and research. It will focus on emerging technologies such as brain-computer interfaces and neural regulation, aiming to accelerate the transfer of research achievements into clinical applications and strengthen neurological rehabilitation services in Zhejiang.
