Hangzhou's innovation ecosystem draws young entrepreneurs
About 200 young entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from APEC economies gathered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Sept 16 for the APEC Young Entrepreneurs Conference, exchanging ideas on AI, entrepreneurship, and digital trade.
Hosting a major Asia-Pacific youth entrepreneurship event in Hangzhou reflects the city's growing innovation ecosystem.
The city's entrepreneurship ecosystem provides young people with sufficient resources and opportunities as they develop their businesses.
For six consecutive years, Hangzhou has attracted more than 350,000 university graduates under 35 a year, with about 40,000 of them emerging as successful entrepreneurs. The city has also been selected for 15 straight years as one of the Chinese cities considered most attractive to foreign professionals.
Hangzhou is also supporting one-person companies (OPCs), with more than 2,000 AI-related OPCs now operating in the city.
During the conference, participants will take part in a series of entrepreneurship workshops, investment matchmaking sessions, and visits to explore Hangzhou's innovation and entrepreneurship environment.
